Sign on days for the 2011/2012 season are Sunday the 21st and 28th of August at the Wamuran Sports Field – Campbells Pocket Road – Wamuran between 10a.m and 1p.m.
Fees are a one off and cover 26 weeks/6 months membership
Tiny Tots (under 4 and under 5) – $26.50 per athlete
Under 6 – $58 per athlete
Under 7 to under 17 – $68.50 / athlete
An additional $8 membership/athlete – payable to the Wamuran Sports Association
Ground Equipment/Lighting fees – $75 / family
This works out about $5.80/week fo an athlete under 7 – under 17
or $4.40 or less/week for a family of two or more.
Uniform is a fluoro orange T-shirt with black collar and trim with plain black shorts of bicycle pants. Shirts available at sign on a a very reasonable cost.
The Wamuran Little Athletics club compete at various carnivals throughout the season. This is up to individuals whether or not they compete and entry fees are the responsibility of the athlete.
Club Nights are held on Friday nights at the Wamuran Sports Field starting at 6p.m. and finishing around 8-8.30p.m.
Each age group is allocated 4-5 events each Friday night with each age group usually given jump – throw – sprint/hurdle – long distance/ walk events.
Jumps – high jump, long jump and triple jump (U11 and up)
Throws – shot put, discus and javelin(U11 and up)
Sprint – 70m, 100m, 200m, and 400m
Middle Distance – 800m and 1500m(U11 and up)
Hurdles (U8 and up)
Parents are REQUIRED to assist on Club Nights by either recording, assisting at different events, coaching, setting up, packing up or assisting in the canteen.
Little Athletes Clubs cannot run without the assistance of Parents.
Nobody gets paid – everybody is a volunteer…
Coaching Clinics are available through the QLAA for anyone interested.
Our members have had lots of success at Zone and State level in all aspects of Track and Field events.
