Submit Community News

Woodford newspaper is all about the community and we gladly publish news and events submitted by you! Just make sure your subject has something to do with Woodford Queensland and its surrounding areas. This includes Delaney’s Creek, D’aguilar, Mt Mee, Wamuran.  If you are from Woodford in the UK our audience will not be interested in your news.

Ideas for something to submit:

  1. Local history. We are trying to preserve stories about history and would really appreciate any information you have.
  2. A personal achievement. We love stories about the locals and how they complete a goal or get rewarded for hard work and participation.
  3. Personal stories are a good way to incorporate advertising for your local group. People love to see volunteers that fund raise for our community.

Ideas for local business:

There are advertising options for businesses, however you can sometimes get published on our website for free:

  1. Ask your customers to do an honest review about your business.
  2. A Meet the owners article.
  3. History of your business.
  4. Funny stories that happen in your business.
  5. A special offer for locals.

You do not have to be a professional but please:

  1. Use spell check! We do not have time to correct your submissions.
  2. Get a friend to check over your writing if you are really not good at it.

Please include these things with your submission:

  1. A word document with a descriptive story, not just a flyer, as we are trying to create interest and excitement. PDF’s are hard work for us and we will no longer be extracting your text from them. Even if you send your story in an email with a picture attached, this is a better way than sending a PDF.
  2. A Picture… Maybe of a previous event.  People shots are the most popular.
