Fashion Wednesday for Local mums
Delaneys Creek Schools enterprising mums, Debbie Lacy and Janelle Martin, launched a ‘Fashion Wednesday’ day of fun. The idea took off from their coffee outings together at the local coffee shop or at one of their homes. Debbie wore her favourite shoes to the morning outings and Janelle started teasing her, asking if she was wearing her ‘grandma’ shoes again! Deb, to get her own back on Janelle, said her shirt looked like a tablecloth and she wasn’t sure where to put her coffee cup, on the table or on top of Janelle!
The pair of them decided to have some fun, and said to each other that each Wednesday they had to drag something out of the cupboard that hadn’t been worn in ages. They had such a lot of fun dressing up in their old stuff, that they decided to invite a few more of the Delaneys Creek mothers to their ‘Fashion Wednesday’.
The ladies had a lot of fun laughing at each other, and decided to put a photo of themselves on Facebook, which started discussions on whether to trash or keep the items of clothing. Soon mothers from the Woodford School also joined in on the fun.
This week, as the media was taking photos of the ladies, they dressed in more appealing clothes for their morning coffee.
I spoke with one of the ladies, Kelly Ayre, who said it was good to get out of the house once in a while and de-stress and enjoy each others friendship. It helped everyone forget their financial worries and family issues. They were just locals supporting each other and having a good laugh in the process.
Hope you have lots more fun in the future ladies, and I might even join you when the school hols are over.
