EXTRA FUNDING FOR QUEENSLAND HOME AND COMMUNITY CARE SERVICES

More frail, older people and younger people with a disability in Longman will be able to remain in their own homes and communities as a result of a $16.7 million funding boost Home and Community Care (HACC) services in Queensland.
Federal Minister for Mental Health and ageing Mark Butler and Senator for Queensland Mark Furner today announced Longman has received $246,052 in funding for Capacity building – services utilising vehicles to support transition to vehicle depreciation/replacement model.

Tick season comes early

Ticks are killers
The most common parasite to cause the death of your loved pet is definately the paralyses tick (l.holocyclos).  The season has already started, probably a month earlier than average for the district.
Prevention has traditionally been either one or a combination of approaches.  One product (Probane) that has been a mainstay for many years has recently been discontinued but stocks are thought to be available this year.

Woodford first Health Expo a Success

Many turned up to the Health Expo in Woodford despite the threatening rain.  There was a slight drizzle but no heavy rain which kept the people coming.
Angela Morgan and Helen Sattler did a superb job organising the Health Expo.  It was very informative in many fields of staying healthy.  Speakers got up to tell the crowd about their products and how it adds  value to your health.

Practitioners Bring Wellbeing To The Community

It all started as a simple idea to celebrate the hours of endless painting in a new clinic and has now become a community event.
Event organisers and practitioners of the Creating Health Wellbeing Centre, Angela Morgan and Helen Sattler, formed a unique friendship when Helen decided to move into the clinic in Woodford.

WOODFORD WELLBEING EXPO SELLS OUT

Woodford best known for it’s folk festival, is gaining the reputation as the “Festival Town” with the recent Splendor in the Grass, Dreaming Festival, The Planting and now another kind of festival – A Wellbeing Festival.
