Are We Losing  Our Valuable Volunteers With too Much Red Tape?

A meeting was held on the 12 October at the Woodford Cricket Club, to decide when to reschedule the A.G.M regarding Stanley Rivers Athletics Club.  The coach, Ron Le Sage, has made the decision to retire on 7 December and the committee has to determine whether to continue as a club.  It was decided to postpone the A.G.M. until Wednesday, 26 October at 4pm, so that parents and members of the committee could be given time to think about what outcome they would like to achieve.

Woodford Gaia Community Garden Fundraiser

The spirit of the community was out last night when Michelle Coates and Phil Boyle opened their home to the Woodford Community and catered for the Woodford Gaia community garden fundraiser.  Phil, with his self
built pizza maker, made delicious pizza and the ladies followed with their scrumptious desserts.  Sixty plus people joined in the fun, singing, dancing and chatting together.
Kevin and his mates entertained us with their fantastic music as we sat around the fire.
They are hoping to make this a monthly event at the Community Garden at the Bush …

Hello fellow friends of the Bush House,
Today is a  cosy rainy Saturday.  Cozy because I am writing this with a warm cup of tea by my side, enjoying the sound of the rain falling from the leaves onto the plants below.  Here are the spring rains, and within weeks bulbs will be pushing through and life and colour will be springing into gardens everywhere.

Petition to reduce speed on D’Aguilar Highway

The safety for motorists along the D’Aguilar Highway continues to be a constant concern for local road users and the State Member, Andrew Powell, is demanding that something be done about it now.
“The Government knows this road is a hazard yet they refuse to hand over the money that is needed to make necessary upgrades and ultimately save lives.

Gaia Community Garden and The Inspiration Centre Opening Day

Woodford Gaia community Garden Rejuvenation and open day is being held on Sunday the 29th of May at the Bush House, 126 Archer St.
The aim is to establish a common ground for community use, enhance gardening  skills through sharing of knowledge, and to build and strengthen community connections with like-minded people.

Woodford Community Bus

The Community Bus Management Committee, a sub-committee of the Woodford Memorial Community Centre Inc., is a new community group that aims to provide an affordable transport alternative to the people of Woodford and District.
The “Woodford Community Bus” project has been started to give the local clubs and groups an opportunity to hire a bus for community events at very reasonable price. Show ball to be fantastic

Councillor Raedel delivered a $500.00 cheque from the Moreton Bay Regional Council to help with the expenses of running the Woodford Show Ball.

Rainy Anzac Day Service Held at Woodford Hall

The town of Woodford may be little but big on spirit as the rain didn’t stop the community coming out to pay their respects.  The rain forced the march to be cancelled and move the ceremony into the community hall.  While officials re-organised the service the Caboolture community choir sung two magnificent tunes.

Anzac Day Service at Delaneys Creek State School

Anzac Day, this year, falls on Easter Monday, but make no mistake the significance of this day will still be in the forefront of our minds.  We will remember our fallen soldiers, ex serviceman and our soldiers in service today.
Many of the Schools around the area had their Anzac Parades early as this year school holidays started on 15 April.

Woodford and Delaneys Creek boys picked for Rugby League School District

Trials for the Rugby League School Districts were held at Beerwah football grounds on 7 March.  The school boys selected for the 12 y.o. boys for Rugby League Glass House Mountain District, from Delaneys Creek State School, were Ty Coutts, Flynn Nation and Brendon Davis.  The ll y.o. boy selected for this district from Delaneys Creek State School was Jonathan Cash.
The school boy picked for Rugby League Caboolture District from Woodford State School was Connor Jackson.
The boys will be training each week at Beerwah.  …

Fashion Wednesday for Local mums

Delaneys Creek Schools enterprising mums, Debbie Lacy and Janelle Martin, launched a ‘Fashion Wednesday’ day of fun.  The idea took off from their coffee outings together at the local coffee shop or at one of their homes.  Debbie wore her favourite shoes to the morning outings and Janelle started teasing her, asking if she was wearing her ‘grandma’ shoes again!  Deb, to get her own back on Janelle, said her shirt looked like a tablecloth and she wasn’t sure where to put her coffee cup, on the table or on …

Flooding areas for the 11th of January 2011

Well the rain just keeps on coming, however where we are not complaining because we are not in the worst situation. Our hearts go out to the people who have lost family members in and around the Toowoomba region. If you can spare any money please donate at one of the major local businesses in town. There is nothing else we can do for them at this time.
Caboolture and Strathpine are now being evacuated and more suburbs in Brisbane are in line for more water as well. Please do not …
