Greens Candidate for Nanango Grant Newson is highly critical of the State Government’s claim that the new Strategic Cropping Land Legislation which came into effect on the 30th of January would protect prime agricultural land in the South Burnett or Brisbane Valley.
Mr. Newson said the legislation was little more than a green light to mining companies and left most farmers on the South Burnett unprotected from the threat that CSG poses to the aquifers and water that our farms and communities rely.
