The Woman behind Woodford Wellbing Expo

Angela Morgan set up the Creating Health Well Being Centre about four or five years ago.  She practiced Bowen Therapy and Massage.  When the house behind her little shop became available she decided to join them both together to create more comfort and a bigger centre.
Helen Sattler then approached Angela offering her services, which entailed the Raindrop Technique.  This technique involves energetic body balancing where essential oils are dropped along the spine and feathered out.  As the essential oils are a 100% this produces synergy energy which removes blockages and pain.  After the pampering treatment you will …

‘When a Bushie leaves the crease’

During the late 1950’s, it was once mentioned, when in Woodford you could not throw a stone in any direction without ‘hitting’ a great cricketer. Amongst the local cricketing identities, the stately presence of six brothers, whose tall and wiry physiques on a cricket field would nobly stand out.
Cutting a perfectly moulded form in their neatly pressed whites, the dashing young Cochran boys, Don, Matt, Les, Steve, Colin and Russell would set about smashing sixes, carefully placing shots and annihilating wickets with a style uniquely …

D’Aguilar Mountain Retreat Bed and Breakfast For Sale

Maria and Keith McKenzie have owned the Bed and Breakfast for 9 years which is just off the D’Aguilar highway at D’Aguilar.
As there are many festivals happening in Woodford through out the year and not much accommodation in Woodford for these people coming to them, Maria is always flat out around these times. The B&B is already booked for the Woodford Festivals, Splendour in the grass and soon will be for the Dreaming Festival . She said a couple months before the Dreaming festival the aboriginal association rings up and books all the beds up. So it’s a little gold mine for anyone wishing to run a B&B. It has been well established and it is also a great community to live in.

Bob Hawke came to the Woodford Folk Festival this year (2009/2010) and included a quick visit to Grapelands, our local rocking fruit shop. Since living in Woodford I’ve known Nick Comino the town’s fruit store owner as the man who brings entertainment to the people and puts “joy into their lives”. He is a generous man with a heart of gold and whenever you see Nick his whole face lights up as he waves hello, always lifting one’s spirits.
Nicks story is fascinating to listen to about how he became Woodford’s favourite icon. The son of Greek parents and born in Gympie in 1955, Nick was raised on a farm. His father and his uncles worked …
