Stanley River District Athlectic Club A.G.M. 12 October

Stanley River District Athletic Club A.G.M. will be held at 4pm on the 12 October.
Ron Le Sage, the athletics coach of the club, pushed for an athletics club to be formed a year ago.  He believed that the children of Woodford and surrounding areas, needed to belong to a club that could improve their running and give them a purpose, as apposed to a bunch of children turning up and running around a field.
Ron, a volunteer coach for a number of years, formerly set up Stanley Rivers Athletics Club.  Now it is …

Stanley Rivers Rugby League Under 15′s win the Grand Final

In the Grand Final at Maroochydore Stanley Rivers Junior Under 15′s Rugby League team thrashed Beerwah Bulldogs 32-0.  Stanley Rivers played brilliantly, working together as one united force.  They fiercely defended their own territory, showing great technique and not allowing the Bulldogs to score throughout the game.
Coach, Tim Lapfthorne, did a fantastic job with the boys, keeping them fit and instilling a fighting spirit.  Each team member marked their territory and the team was unstoppable.
Well done boys, you did a great job.
Under 12′s played their Grand Final against Kawana, going down in the last 5 minutes …

Under 15′s Wolves Rugby League team through to the finals

It was a wet Saturday afternoon for the Stanley River’s Junior Rugby League under 15′s  team.   They played their semi finals game against Beerwah at Maroochydore.   It was a great effort  beating Beerwah 16 to 8 in what was a tough game given the conditions they played in.
The rain bucketed down and the game was  gruelling  but victory was the outcome and now they can sit back while the other teams battle it out for the finals in two weeks time.
Unfortunately it wasn’t without injury, the half back was hit …

Stanley Rivers Rugby League Under 10′s team undefeated

The rugby season is almost over and Stanley Rivers Rugby League Under 10′s team have yet to lose a match.  Coach, Tony Martin, is to be commended for the great job he has done this year with the boys.  They are a fit and well organised team.  There are a few outststanding players, but overall the coach has taught them to play as a team, and I believe this is their secret weapon.  The boys communicate well together and their enthusiasm and love of the …
