The St. Paul’s Lutheran Primary School community is tackling the issue of bullying head-on, by equipping parents, staff, and of course the children, with information about bullying and strategies to both prevent it and deal with it.
As in previous years, anti-bullying expert and author of the bestseller “Why We Bully” visited St Paul’s this week, running workshops for both parents and the students and staff as well.
“We ran the program a little differently this year,” said Mr. Gilbert Lohe, St. Paul’s Deputy Principal. “Rather than each class attending the workshops, …

The children at St Paul’s Lutheran Primary School have been even more excited about being at school over the last two weeks. Each afternoon they’ve been bussed to Burpengary Aquatic and Fitness Centre for swimming lessons. “The staff there are just so friendly and great with the kids,” said Mrs Wendy Mitchell, Teaching Assistant with Year Three. “And it’s just so important that they learn the skills to keep themselves safe in the water. Especially with water being everywhere up here in Queensland – dams and watertanks, as well as …

Dancing up a fundraising storm for the East Africa food crisis
Each year at this time, students at St Paul’s Lutheran Primary School usually start collecting shoeboxes, and filling them with gifts for the annual international Christmas Shoebox appeal. This year, however, the school has changed its focus, and instead has planned a number of fundraisers to support the ongoing crisis in East Africa.

Parents became primary students at St Paul’s Lutheran Primary School last week when they attended workshops on the new Australian Mathematics curriculum.
Curriculum Coordinator Libby Sansome and Learning Support teacher Jacquie Delroy designed and ran the Maths workshops, and plan on running these twice yearly. These are in addition to the Literacy workshops that have also been very popular with parents.
“We think it’s important to show the parents the way that we teach Maths now, as it is quite different to how it has been taught in the past,” Mrs Sansome …

The St Paul’s Spring Fair is well known in the Caboolture Community for being the ‘Strawberry’ Spring Fair. This year was no different, with mountains of strawberries and cream being enjoyed by the thousands of fair-goers. But some new additions made an impact this year; an attack-dog show, presented by Adam Sessions of K9 Securities, really wowing the crowd.
Ian Bloxham, the St Paul’s Business Manager, had organised the demonstration, thinking that it might be quite interesting. So when a volunteer was needed to play a ‘baddie’ for the guard dog …

This week, workmen arrived with their trucks at St Paul’s Lutheran Primary School. They then moved the Old St Paul’s church building from the campus. It had been donated to the Caboolture Historical Village.
The church, originally on Haskin St, moved to the school site on Smiths Road in April 1985. It reopened for worship services in September that year, after the roof had been removed and restored. Once at Smiths Road, it served in various functions, as a church, as a classroom, as a Teacher Aide room, and finally as …
