Inspiring the next generation of leaders

 
Over the weekend Wyatt Roy MP, Federal Member for Longman, hosted the inaugural Longman Youth Leadership Forum, coinciding with National Youth Week activities.
Thirty young people from across the region became the first ‘LYLFers’ as they participated in a two day programme including exciting guest speakers and interesting community projects.
Mr Roy said the weekend had been both fun and inspiring and the LYLFers had taken away new skills and enhanced leadership capabilities.

Wamuran and District Mens Shed Computer Tuition

Classes will commence next Wednesday, 8th February, at the Old Wamuran School, [WHVC], from 1.00pm to 3.00pm.
We only have room for five persons at any one time for each class so the first five to contact me will be first in. Learning how to make Cream Cheese, Kefir and Sauercraut at the Bush House.

I recently visited the Inspiration Centre at the Bush House and found that it certainly lives up to its name.  I was taught how to make yoghurt, cream cheese, kefir and sauerkraut by Rosanna Wordsworth with a great bunch of people who also soaked in her information, having a fantastic time with lots of fun and laughter, as well as learning a new art.

Delaneys Creek School Captains and Sports Captain are official

Mrs Alison Tucker, who was standing in for Delaneys Creek Principal, presented the badges to the schools new leaders for 2011.  Caitlyn Raponi and Bradley Feeney were given their badges as School Captains, their first leadership role and hopefully a continuous achievement throughout their lives.  Who knows? One might become Prime Minister one day!  Congratulations to Caitlyn and Bradley for a great achievement and we wish them both the very best in their new roles as leaders of the school.

Official launch of Workforce at Woodfordia

The official launch of  Workforce was on Wednesday, November 3 at Woodfordia.  National Green Jobs Corps, a Federal Government initiative, Queensland Folk Festival and Max Employment combined to put together a project that offers 17-24 year olds living in Caboolture, Morayfield, Woodford and surrounding areas, a 6 month training course in Horticulture, which will accredit them with a Certificate 2 in Horticulture. The project started in September with all training done on site at Woodfordia.
